I wrote this for my wife and sang it during our wedding. It still holds significance for me even though I can’t apply it to her anymore. It is my commitment to the one I will marry (if I ever find someone to put up with me). I probably won’t sing this at my next wedding, however, it might be kind of awkward since it was written to someone else. I still plan to record it and put it out there so someone else can use it for their wedding if they wish.
The Seventh Wave
For one drink of water
I will give you a well of love
Build you a garden where the ground
Is broken and rough
Lift you up
When your path is slick with rain
Hold you even closer if you shake
From cold or pain
The cross will be my standard of love,
My hope an empty grave
I trade this life of one to share with you
The seventh wave
You’re amazing
Surprising me in a thousand ways
Holding to a promise that we made
even through the toughest days
I am ready to hold to you
And you alone
Securing the foundation of our home
To heaven’s Cornerstone
